All of this has been made possible by utilizing a hybrid speaker design that incorporates a specialized 42 cm custom driver tuned to 16 Hz for the low-frequency range. It is paired with a properly cross-matched 38 cm woofer, both housed in separate chambers and volumes within the same cabinet to ensure maximum extension, articulation, and the necessary punch to reproduce every single tone of the lowest frequencies without delay, ranging from large orchestral percussion to the lowest octave of organ pedals.
From 250 Hz and above, the speakers will be used as dipoles. They will be coupled with an array of four 16.5 cm cone mid-woofers from Res Audio, with a high cut-off frequency at 600 Hz.
No crossover frequency cuts will be employed from 600 Hz up to 20,000 Hz, and four planar magnetic speakers will be used for the mid-high range to guarantee absolute coherence and transparency of sound in the most sensitive area to the human ear, even at extreme volumes. This solution ensures remarkable linearity in this frequency range, allowing the amplifiers to drive the speakers effortlessly.
An optional ribbon super tweeter completes the ultra-high range.
The speaker is constructed with reinforced synthetic resin, ensuring solidity and power.
The crossover is housed in a separate and decoupled frame, equipped with external controls for adjustments to various environmental conditions.
To ensure full enjoyment of the reproduced music, the refined aesthetic finish is complemented by a special artisanal hand-painted coating.

This speaker is the result of a clear vision: to offer a sound totally free from colorations, refractions and physical limits.
It is a 3-way hybrid dipole system, entirely built in high-density resin, a material chosen for its exceptional rigidity and damping qualities, capable of ensuring an acoustically neutral base for each transducer.

Cabinet – Functional design for perfect dispersion
The sinuous shape, sculpted with flowing roundness and precise tapering, is not just aesthetic.
It is designed to eliminate any physical barrier to sound, promoting an exceptionally uniform polar response on both the horizontal and vertical axes. The result is an open, three-dimensional soundstage, where the speaker disappears and leaves room only for the music.
Exponential horn bass reflex: power and precision
At the base of the speaker, a horn-shaped bass reflex accord optimizes the performance in the low range:
• Increases the efficiency of the woofer;
• Minimizes turbulence and distortion;
• Extends the bass response with greater timbre coherence.
The exponential geometry of the duct guarantees a fluid and controlled release of air, for deeper, more articulated and dynamic bass.
A listening experience that sees the speakers disappear
The sound is released into the environment without obstacles, in a natural and enveloping way. This speaker is not just a design object, it is a musical instrument capable of exciting with every listen.
MSD has created the “Hybrid” line of speakers that uses a combination of dipole emission and bass reproduction using cone speakers (woofers) in reflex enclosure. This allows for excellent sound performance in both high and low frequencies.

The hybrid sound reproduction system presents a fundamental challenge: to seamlessly and harmoniously unite two different types of speakers. Many manufacturers have encountered difficulties in this aspect, but after years of research and experimentation, MSD has succeeded in having dedicated cone speakers (woofers) made to reproduce the low frequency range.
These speakers, characterized by compact size and low weight, are equipped with high-power magnets and special membranes that skillfully integrate the two emissions. In this way, the goal of harmoniously connecting the critical junction point between the deep and energetic low frequency range and the speed and transparency of the mid-high frequency range has been achieved, “magically” eliminating the gap between the two types of speakers.
The “VENEZIA” hybrid speaker line consists of three models that differ in the number of speakers used, size and weight, as well as the number of ways (3-way for the Venezia 0.5, 4-way for the Venezia 0.7 and Venezia 1.0).

The aesthetic beauty of the speakers hides sophisticated electroacoustic solutions, including three high-quality drivers: a silk-dome tweeter enclosed in an ogive-shaped structure placed above the wooden cabinet, a high-sensitivity magnetoplanar driver for the midrange, and a woofer tuned through the use of an agile crossover located in a spacious internal chamber. Despite the speakers’ delicate lines, they surprise the listener with sound imaging reproducible only by more refined stand-mounted speakers, thanks to the use of the midrange magnetoplanar driver, which ensures high speed in transients, transparency, and richness in instrument sound, seamlessly integrating with the system’s low-frequency range.

The story of Marco Serri begins in the Motor Valley, in the garage of a town in the province of Modena, Guiglia.
As a very young man, Marco was influenced by the atmosphere of research and experimentation typical of his homeland, being struck by the world of electronics and deciding to devote himself to his first constructions for amateur radio.
